The Last King: the Power and the Passion of Charles II (2004) short review

2003 The Last King

Very entertaining look at this British monarch, with the yummy Rufus Sewell in the title role.  Luckily he was not only married (Shirley Henderson as Catherine of Braganza), but had many mistresses (Nell Gwyn, Barbara Villiers [played by Helen McCrory] and a sister (played by Anne-Marie Duff), all of whom are in splendiferous 17th century costumes.  Lots of sex and intrigue.
