I’m not sure if it’s possible for English actress Frances Barber to NOT appear glamorous in the many historical films and TV series she’s been in! There’s just something about her face that SO suits, particular 20th century vintage. She’ll be playing Lady Margaret Huggins in the upcoming Virginia Woolf’s Night & Day (2026), and I had that immediate “where do I know her from??” Confession: primarily from Love in a Cold Climate and the comedic genius that is Psychobitches! But here’s all the things YOU may know her from!
As always, there are a few productions for which I can’t find pics:
- Woman in Those Glory Glory Days (1983)
- Karen in Screen Two: “In the Cold Light of Day” (1994)
- Anna Lindsay in Du fond du coeur (1994)
- Natalie Sedova in The Chosen (2016)
Here’s the rest!
