English actor Jack Huston will be starring in the upcoming Treasure Island, so I thought it was time to feature him! The son of actor/assistant director/writer Tony, Jack’s aunt is Angelica Huston and his grandfather was director John Huston, hence the famous last name. Let’s run down his frock flicks work!

A biopic about the Beat poets, Kerouac being one of the most famous.
Richard Harrow in Boardwalk Empire (2010-14)
One of the more striking characters from the 1920s-set mob/politics drama series, Huston’s lost part of his face in World War I.
Pete Musane in American Hustle (2013)
The FBI forces two con artists to entrap various politicians in the late 1970s. Beyond our time period, but why not!
King Charles II in The Great Fire (2014)
A TV miniseries set during the Great Fire of London of 1660.
George Wickham in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016)
Huston played a dreamy yet evil version of our favorite Austen cad in this fantasy take on the classic.

I can’t remember specifics, but I’m guessing he’s the/a villain in this interesting look at slavery.
Domenico De Sole in House of Gucci (2021)
De Sole was the former chairman of the fashion house.
Flint Marko/Sandman in Spider-Noir (2026)
A Marvel superhero movie set in 1930s New York. Huston plays a henchman who can turn himself into sand.

Loved him in Jane Austen Regrets.
In Hail Ceasar, he’s in the sophisticated movie within the movie in an attempt to transition Hobie Doyle from Cowboy to leading man.

I’ve only seen Miss Austen Regrets and Parade’s End. Unfortunately, I remember nearly nothing. However, in the last photo, I can’t help but be struck by his resemblance to Danny Huston, his uncle who played Austrian Emperor Joseph II in Sophia Copella’s Marie Antoinette. Random factoid – costume and scenic designer Maria Björnson used those WWI era half masks as inspiration for her original design of the Phantom of the Opera character.
I’ve only seen him in Spider Noir.
He was the quasi lead in The Longest Ride as young Ira Levinson in the 1940s/50s flashback sections. He acted alongside another costar with a famous connection: Oona Chaplin as his eventual wife Ruth Levinson! It was another subplot I wish was the main plot, as it was interesting! Alas l, we have to put up with a cliche storm with a piece of bland white bread and mayonnaise aka Brit Robertson & Scott Eastwood, as the main plot!
Pretty sure the top pic is also him in the Ben-Hur remake, since it seems there’s no chariot racing in the 2004 Spartacus (as per a wiki search, “Flavius helps escort Spartacus’s wife out of Rome to safety in a peaceful village after the final battle”).
Antebellum tried but I think ultimately failed to deliver on its The Village-esque premise but he was a solid villain, though Boardwalk Empire will probably always be my favorite role for him.

This Jack Quaid fellah was born with the face for moustaches, he really was.
He also pops up in some period-era flashback scenes on The Mayfair Witches, but the show is not very good so I don’t necessarily recommend seeking them out.
