I liked this movie, but I didn’t think it was anything revolutionary. Colin Firth plays George VI who has a serious stammer, Geoffrey Rush is the speech therapist who helps him, and Helena Bonham Carter plays Queen Elizabeth. While the costumes aren’t flashy, they are REALLY well done — when I first saw Queen Mary, I gasped, because she looked JUST like she’d stepped out of a photograph of the real thing. Appropriately, Wallis Simpson gets some pretty spiffy outfits.
