If you’re of a certain age, you probably remember her best as Clair Huxtable, but Phylicia Rashad made her debut on Broadway in 1971 and has performed in theater, movies, and TV ever since. Recently, she made a powerhouse guest appearance on the third season of The Gilded Age, and hopefully she’ll be back for more.

What’s your favorite frock flick role of Phylicia Rashad’s, & what do you want to see her do next in The Gilded Age?

I want her to go to fabulous places so I can see fabulous outfits on the fabulous Brian Stokes Mitchell.
My main memory of her is defending Cosby…
It’s always sad, and infuriating, when women we admire take this route: he’s an artist, his childhood was tragic, he’s a man of color, he’s always been kind to me, etc. I haven’t been able to watch Anjelica Huston after reading her defense of Polanski. I hope Rashad and Huston and others who deny the rape of young girls will rethink and retract their words (as Emma Thompson did).
It’s understandable that one would be unable to believe such charges against a man we think we know well. But making excuses for him after being convinced is not understandable at all
She was such a nice addition to The Gilded Age this past season!
Thank you for reminding me that I still have to watch THE GILDED AGE (Season 3): I temporarily lost access to the appropriate subscription and had forgotten to catch up after reacquiring it (A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS has kept me distracted).
Phylicia Rashad is soooo DEVASTATINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!!! I didn’t know about her Frock Flick roles until now, except for A Raisin in the Sun. I’m adding all these to my To Watch list, especially the musical versions of Pollyanna. I think it’s worth mentioning that, inferring from the pictures, that Polly was played by her TV show daughter, Keisha Knight Pulliam. Also, I didn’t know Brian Stokes Mitchell was in The Guilded Age! He is soooo talented and HOTTTTT! Great WCW post!
