Julie Delpy was born in France where she did much of her early film work. She moved to the U.S. in 1990 and eventually became a naturalized American citizen, though she still splits her time between Paris and Los Angeles. While she started as an actress at age 14, being discovered by famed director Jean-Luc Godard, Delpy also studied film directing and has successfully directed, written, and produced over a dozen films. Her two Oscar nominations have been for writing screenplays. She even writes and performs music, having produced one album and written the original score for two of her movies. While she has all these amazing accomplishments, per our mandate, we can only focus on her frock flick roles, so take this as a hint to go find more of Julie Delpy’s awesome, wide-ranging talents!

What’s your favorite of Julie Delphy’s historical costume roles?
I remember really liking Rand, the movie, not the person. I didn’t know that Delpy played Barbara. I don’t remember an accent
