If you are me, and you have had like, THE most ridiculous crush on Walton Goggins (hey, you don’t have to understand it, I just like ’em weird) since, well, FOREVER, then you are probably thinking to yourself, “Gee, Walton Goggins is having a real moment right now due to the popularity of Fallout (2024), wonder what he’s been in that’s historical?” Turns out, there’s at least enough roles to fill out a Man Candy Monday post! And don’t worry, I’ve got a post brewing on Fallout coming up, because you know me and the whole retrofuturism thing.
I will say, the VAST majority of Goggins’ work on the pre-1969 side of things is mainly comprised of cowboys and hillbillies. There’s not a whole lot of roles that are, how does one say … relevant to our interests here at Frock Flicks. In other words, it’s not a lot of fancy outfits, just a lot of dirt and missing teeth. BUT! Don’t let that dissuade you! Honestly, just watch Justified if you don’t understand why I have this unreasonable fixation on the man. Alright. It may entirely be due to to the fact that I came down with a case of shingles this week and I’m all sorts of drugged up right now … but still. Walton Goggins. Yes, more please. Also, for the love of god and all that is holy, give him some GOOD costume role or I’m going to fight someone.

Shingles suck, but Walton Goggins is fire. Fight me in the comments!
No fight all crush!
Thank you for this beautiful man-candy tribute! But … where is Justified?
It’s those piercing eyes and all-those-teeth smile! I adored him in Justified almost as much as Timothy Olyphant.
Feel better, Sarah! Shingles are a bitch. Not a Frock Flick, but he was great in the Tomb Raider reboot from a few years ago. :)
Miracle at St. Anna was such a good, yet heartbreaking film.
He was sensational in Justified.
Please get well soon, mostly because being ill is horrible, partly because I’m eager to tease you about whether or not your love of Mr Goggins extends to the ‘cannibal ghoul’ phase of his character arc in FALLOUT! (-;
What a terrific actor! Currently binging the Righteous Gemstones, in which he’s absolutely hilarious. Also, I thought I was too jaded to be shocked by anachronistic hair in supposedly historical movies, but the hair in that still from the Laura Ingalls Wilder movie might have done it!
He’s so funny in The Righteous Gemstones.
He is a fantastic actor! Seamlessly fits both villainous and wholesome roles, which is rare.
He says he wants to portray cult leader Jim Jones at some point, and I can see that.
