I thought Amanda Donohoe had been in a lot more frock flicks than this. But Lair of the White Worm isn’t historical, just 1980s weird. And other than that, I’m probably remembering her from L.A. Law (obviously not a frock flick!). Well, at least five things make a post so…
Lady in “Stand and Deliver” Adam and the Ants music video (1981)

Winifred Inger in The Rainbow (1989)

Lady Pembroke in The Madness of King George (1994)

Meggie Cleary O’Neill in The Thorn Birds: The Missing Years (1996)

Queen Guinevere in A Knight in Camelot (1998)

Widow in Hooded Angels (2002)

Did you also think Amanda Donohoe had been in more frock flicks?

Diamanda Hagan’s review of Hooded Angels is Hilarious.
I really loved her in Cast Away (1986 – not Castaway). As for costumes, though, once they get to the island, she really doesn’t have any. But it’s a beautiful story, based on a beautiful memoir by Lucy Irvine, who has spent most of her life in remote places.
I meant to say that I wish you had included her wild costume from White Worm. It’s gorgeous, and she’s gorgeous in it. Plus, it’s exactly what I wear when lying around the house playing board games.
Good grief, she and Michael York may be the most shagadelic Arthur & Guinevere yet put to screen.
Yes, SHAGADELIC, I stand by my contention.
