Episode 6 of The New Look (2024) mostly advances the story around Christian Dior and his sister’s survival after being released from Ravensbrück concentration camp. Admittedly, there’s not a whole lot of costume content to discuss, other than the Chanel half of the story, which does have some interesting frocks.
Apparently, I’m not the only one wondering when we’re going to get some fashion eye candy. This show really is more focused on the biographical side of things and not so much the designer side of things, which, ok, that’s fair. It continues to be an engaging story, thankfully (can’t say the same for Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, which I finally abandoned because I couldn’t stomach the story, fabulous outfits aside).
Are you still watching The New Look (2024)? Let’s discuss in the comments!
I think we’ll get more beautiful frocks when Christian actually starts designing. I love Ben Mendelsohn so much in this show.
At least it’s not all rewears like in TWQ! TWQ characters will wear the same thing for a full decade!
This show has absolutely nothing to do with fashion thus far. Frankly, I think it’s dull and badly acted. The whole Coco goes to Spain is also confusing. I probably won’t watch the rest.
