It’s the original other Bennet sister – Lucy Briers! Pride and Prejudice wasn’t her first TV or film role, but it was one of her most memorable for frock flickers. She embodied Mary’s awkwardness with compassion and just stuck in our heads forever. Briers has continued to work in film, TV, and stage, and of course she’s appeared in the recent The Other Bennet Sister. Let’s see where else we may have recognized her!

That first photo – she’s so much like her late father Richard Briers!
I feel she’s looking more and more like him as she gets older. Wonderful heritage to have.
She’s been quite busy as a character actress. I honestly haven’t recognized her in any of the other films I’ve seen her in. If FF hadn’t noted she was the ’95 Mary, I never would have known it was her. Which I suppose is the sign of a versatile character actress…and of course, P&P will always be my favorite.
She really grew up to look so much like the way I think an older Mary Bennet would look.
I didn’t realize she was in Gentleman Jack. Cool!
Is it just me or does Ms Briers have a strong hint of Miss Marple about her these days? (Also, deeply charming that she shows up to lend a hand to THE OTHER BENNET GIRL: it’s always fun to see actors show up as different characters in variations on the same setting).
