I feel like Dutch actor Lotte Verbeek has been in more frock flicks than this, but I guess that’s just because her two biggest roles so far have been really recognizable and each made a big impact in their respective series. She started out in smaller Dutch productions, and she’s supposedly returning to the final season of Outlander as well.
Pauline of Waldeck-Pyrmont in De Troon (2010)
Judith Lescano in The Swing Girls aka Le Ragazze Dello Swing (2010)
Giulia Farnese in The Borgias (2011-13)
Geillis in Outlander (2014-)
Helena in The Last Witch Hunter (2015)
Ana Jarvis in Agent Carter (2016)
Agent Stone in The Coldest Game (2019)
Eva / Elizabeth in The Book of Vision (2020)
Giulia or Geillis? Or do you have another historical costume role that’s your fave by Lotte Verbeek?Â
Have to say I’m not crazy about the manipulative nature of Geillis, but she did have a few stunning costumes. Anyone who’s read the novels knows her next appearance in the storyline is going to come with a bit of the ick. That’s all I’m saying. I didn’t see all of The Borgias, but my gawd – the costuming, hair, everything – chef’s kiss! Will now have to find Agent Carter because it doesn’t seem to be on Disney+ right now…
I loved her as Ana Jarvis! That was I think the first thing I ever saw her in. I never made the connection between that role and her Outlander and Borgias roles lol.
I swear I thought at first glance at that screenshot from De Troon with the Executeren subtitle, she was going full showgirl with her legs out “I Don’t Care If It’s Victorian I Just Want My Gams Out” and then I realised it was just a pink satin sash.
